August Flower Availability

There's been a lovely range of flowers available already as we inch closer to Spring in August - poppies, sweet pea, daffodils, earlicheer, jonquils, freesias, hyacinth, tulips and iris have all been beautiful.

Ranunculus started towards the end of last month and are still coming in a variety of beautiful colours and of high quality. Lavender also started at the end of July and continues to be lovely.

We have been getting locally grown roses, although the colour range and numbers have been limited.  For any big orders, we have had to top up with imports.  All the roses have had beautiful large heads and lovely quality.

Blue butterfly delphinium has been the only delphinium available, in royal blue, light blue and white.  Snap dragons and stock have also been easily available and beautiful.  Lily of the valley and hydrangea haven't started yet. 

Orchids, oriental lilies, asiatic lilies, longiflorum lilies, carnations, alstromeria and chrysanthemum have been available. 

Local cymbidium orchids have been absolutely fantastic, in a very lovely colour range.

Gymea lilies have still been available this month and have been absolutely stunning.  Sea holly, blushing bride, banksias (coccinea, hookerania and menziesii), beautiful red and green leacadendron, berzillea and gumnuts have been available. Red wax bud and pink/ white wax flower have both been available and smell lovely.  Pink boronia has started. Proteas have been available and the colours of the Straw flower have been simply stunning.

Pink and white blossom branches has been available this month. Only some imported lisianthus and hypericum have been available.

July Flower Availability

Poppies, freesias, hyacinth, lavender, tulips and iris have all been around in July.  We have also had daffodils and plenty of earlicheer jonquils. Ranunculas are just starting out but have so far been lovely.

Dahlias are sadly coming to an end for the season.

Roses have been readily available, with imports in a new range of colours making up the shortfall of local production. Blue butterfly delphinium has been the only delphinium available, in both darker blue and lighter blue.  Snap dragons and stock have also been beautiful.

Arabs eye, daphne, violets or lily of the valley are not yet available.

Malucca balm, pepper berry, amaranth and hypericum have been available. Orchids, oriental lilies, asiatic lilies, longiflorum lilies, carnations, alstromeria, chrysanthemum, gladioli and sunflowers have been available. 

Local cymbidium orchids have been fantastic, in a very lovely colour range. 

Blushing bride, erica, banksias (coccinea, hookerania and menziesii), beautiful red and green leacadendron, tetra nuts and gumnuts have been available. Red wax bud and wax flower have both been available.  Proteas have been available in a beautiful range of varieties, although not in great numbers.

Gymea lilies are available this month. Beautiful blossom branches started this month.  Magnolia bud branches are also available.  There has been no lisianthus.

June Flower Availability

Already this month we've had early jonquils, freesias, hyacinth, tulips and iris.  We have also had some lovely oramental kale in beautiful purples and greens and although we have not yet had any ranunculus we have started getting in beautiful anemones, poppies and later in the month some very beautiful sweet pea.

The roses have been lovely, with the cooler temperatures bringing on larger heads and deeper colours and lovely locally grown babies breath has started.

Imported Peonies have been available this month and have been available in stunning colours tho their price tags are high the quality of the imports has been quite good towards the end of the month.

Birds of paradise have already been available for a few weeks.

Blue butterfly delphinium has been almost the only delphinium available.  Snap dragons and stock have also been available.  We have also been getting lovely sunflowers.

Orchids, asiatic lilies, longiflorum lilies, carnations, alstromeria, and chrysanthemum have been available. Our oriental lily supplier has had trouble on their farm in NSW with their pink lily batch this last few weeks but pink is readily available from other growers tho the quality of our NSW grower is hard for them to match. 

Local cymbidium orchids have started and are arriving in a stunning array of colours.

Banksias (coccinea, hookerania and menziesii) have been beautiful. Wax bud has been available but wax not yet.  Pink ice proteas, nerifolia protea and queen proteas have been available.  Teatree is abundant as are leucadendron.  We have started getting gymea flowers and blushing bride.  Managed to get a few bunches of kangaroo paw, and gum foliage has been especially lovely.  Tetra nuts and gum nuts have been readily available. We are still getting larger head king proteas in pink but grevillea has been a little scarce.

Vibernum, camellia, woolley bush, native cherry and afterdark foliages have been available with the magnolia from our Victoria grower especially lovely with beautiful dark velvet browns on the backs of the leaves.
